The social community cooperative Ture Nirvane joins the Rural Living Labs network of the RUDI – Horizon Europe project, which will establish eight Rural Innovation Clusters across Europe.
Rural Living Labs are participatory hubs where municipalities, SMEs, social economy actors, civil society, and research institutions will co-design, implement, and evaluate innovations together, such as cooperative care models, circular agri-food systems, and climate-resilient mobility solutions.
Within the project, Ture Nirvane will act as a practice partner, contributing to the study and evaluation of the challenges posed by demographic and climate change in European rural areas, in collaboration with the European and International Affairs Department of the Liguria Region and the administrations of neighbouring local municipalities.
The project is coordinated by ZSI – Zentrum für Soziale Innovation (Vienna). For the Ecovillage Torri Superiore, the reference partners are GEN-Europe and the University of Milan (Department of Cultural and Environmental Heritage, Geography, Environment and Territory section).
The work will last four years and will involve local and international networks, including Via Campesina and GEN-Europe, together with organisations active in marginal territories, to study existing good practices and develop a proposal of positive actions to be presented both at the local level and at the EU level.
