The Academy of Visionary Art – Summer Seminar 2023
As you most probably know, The Vienna Academy of Visionary Art closed its doors permanently in 2020 due to Covid-19.
We moved back to our home in France where we’ve been concentrating on our own creative projects for the last 2 years.
HOWEVER…!
We are now happy to resume our activities with
OUR ANNUAL SUMMER SEMINAR at TORRI SUPERIORE, ITALY
which will be held from July 1st – 23rd, 2023
Since the spirit of the school is sill very much alive, we decided to keep the logo, but without “Vienna.” Hence our new simplified name

Studying Painting in the Manner of the Old Masters

Learn the mystery & alchemy of the Mischtechnik with DANIEL MIRANTE
Daniel Mirante will offer instruction in the Mischtechnik, a “Mixed Technique” that alternates between white egg tempera and coloured glazes in oil & varnish.
Following the approaches of the Old Masters, Daniel will impart the ‘tempera grassa’ version of the Mischtechnik – a layered approach used by Venetian Renaissance artists (Bellini, Titian) and revived by Piero Annegoni.
Gain new insights into layering with Acrylics with JONATHAN SOLTER
After an initial brainstorming session, you will immerse yourself in the painting process, following various Flow Methods to develop a Soul Tree in Golden fluid acrylics.
Working from general to specific, you will explore the play of shapes, pushing and pulling the lights and darks to arrive at a cohesive composition. Jonathan will also transmit quick and effective methods for opening portals to the visionary world.
Tuition for the course is €2,650 including
3 WEEKS OF FULL ACCOMMODATION
in cosy apartments with 3 meals per day.
..And full-time teaching ~ Monday to Saturday with an exhibition of the students’ works at the end!
The Eco-Village of TORRI SUPERIORE is a labyrinthine village of spiralling stairs & narrow passages,
built from the local limestone in 1300. In this cosy & creative atmosphere, the inhabitants live in harmony with Nature, practicing Permaculture & Sustainable Living.
We will become part of village life
~ sharing in communal meals prepared by the local chef from fresh and mostly organic ingredients grown in the surrounding fields.
Each Student brings their own unique talent to the Seminar
~ Yoga, Chanting, Live Music ~to enhance the group experience

Over the years, the Students have demonstrated how Visionary Art is indeed a global phenomenon.
They have hailed from such diverse places as Argentina, the Sinai desert, India, Australia, Israel & all quarters of Europe, the U.S.A, Canada and Mexico. Each brought the distinctive taste of their own culture with them, and offered a global perspective on the present transformation of world-consciousness.
